BDA's free Digital Salons are back! The first one of 2016, featuring "The Craft of Filmmaking" on Thursday February 18, from 6 to 8pm at Boulder Digital Arts. BDA's Digital Salons are a fun and unique hybrid of schmoozing and networking, art and technology, entertainment, and education. These FREE events bring together people from all different disciplines - filmmakers, photographers, web designers, mobile app developers and more!
Doors open at 6:00 pm for our winter Digital Salon, featuring a live presentation by award-winning filmmakers, plus ample time to meet new people and enjoy great food and drinks!
You'll also have an opportunity to quickly address the crowd if you have a project to showcase, a job to offer, or crew positions you'd like to fill. If you do want to speak that night, please arrive early to get your place on the sign-up sheet, as time is limited!
Several of the area's most prolific video professionals will be discussing what makes compelling videos, whether they're corporate videos, documentaries, or feature films. They're sure to talk about:
- Storytelling Tips
- How to Develop A Compelling Aesthetic
- How to Hone Your Craft
- How to help your client be "more" creative, and turn their dry, boring video into something that would be fun to work on and something you can be proud of!
6pm: Social time with other creative digital professionals
6:30pm: Open time for Job/Crew/Collaboration Announcements
7pm: "The Craft of Filmmaking," Discussion Panel featuring multiple award-winning crew people, including editor Mike Scalisi, producer/director Madeleine Pollak, cameraman Lowel Pierce, producer Dana Romanoff and editor Amy Marquis. Moderated by Danice Crawford.
