Introduction to Reality TV

Description: This workshop provides an overview of the world of reality or "unscripted" television. We will review the current reality/docu landscape by understanding the different types of formats from elimination/competition shows to docu-series. We will demonstrate the real process of show development from creation, the pitch and eventually production. What are the elements necessary to be able to pitch a show? From PowerPoint Presentations to sizzle reels (5 minute video presentations), we will cover what networks require to be able to get in the door. Topics like casting, production teams, and understanding the many networks out there and what they look for will be covered. It all starts very simply: THE IDEA.

Where: Open Media Foundation (700 Kalamath Street in Denver)

Cost: $50 for DOM members, $99 for non-members (students get the $50 member rate)
