CFVA Partners with the Underground Music Showcase (UMS) in July

The Colorado Film & Video Association (CFVA) is partnering with the Underground Music Showcase (UMS) to create a four-episode, daily web series featuring some of the hottest bands from each of the four days of the 2012 UMS. The series will run on the UMS website, and will update daily with a new episode highlighting the top talent that performed the day before. This is a fun opportunity to exhibit the talent of our organization, see great local bands and establish lasting connections for local film and music professionals in Colorado.

No matter what your position in the industry - whether you are a production intern or an executive producer - we want you to join in the fun. In particular, shooters, editors and sound engineers with their own equipment will get lots of love on this production. Whether you have 2 weeks to spare, or 2 hours, there's a chance for everyone to do what they do well. Not only do we have crew slots to fill for the showcase performances, but we have lots of shooting and editing to get done before the UMS starts, too.

In addition to making great media that supports our local artists and our community, our crews will have full access to the Underground Music Showcase and all the great bands involved. So, it will definitely be a fun shoot. We encourage all of the CFVA members to participate in this project and offer your talents and expertise for a great cause. Please email Brian Laughlin to sign up today. Production is already in motion and we are ready for you to come on board.

About the UMS. ( The 2012 UMS kicks off next month, July 19-22. In addition to supporting great local bands on the verge of national attention, UMS is a Denver Post Community organization who's proceeds go to support and VH1 Save the Music. The annual celebration of music is at the forefront of Colorado’s local music community, and is now attracting national bands as well. The UMS is where Denver music fans convene to hear established performers and rising stars. The showcase features hundreds of bands, dj’s, comedians and singer-songwriters over four days in Denver's trendy South Broadway arts district. Past performers include Devotchka, Isaac Slade of The Fray, 16 Horsepower, The Flobots and Nathaniel Rateliff. Proceeds benefit VH1 Save the Music and
