Director Nina Davenport In-Person
Nina Davenport is our first VOICES film festival in-person guest and we want to pack the house and give her a warm Denver welcome.
FIRST COMES LOVE is an extremely funny, honest, and brave portrait about female friendships. The film comes highly acclaimed and we look forward to hosting Nina Davenport in-person on Wednesday night.
Nina Davenport In-Person
FIRST COMES LOVE
Single, and over 40, but wanting children,Davenport decides not to wait any longer and goes for IVF. Pregnancy, a 'modern family' and changed relationships perfectly captures the spirit of the age.
Wednesday, March 6th, 7:00pm
"'It begins around the time, when I was 41 and was wondering what to do about my biological clock, feeling it was about to explode any second and run out of time,'" said Nina Davenport, Director of FIRST COMES LOVE. Five years ago, Davenport changed her life (as an over-40, single woman) radically by giving birth to a child. She documented the journey in her very personal documentary film. Ms. Davenport's combined talents as a cinematographer, editor, and storyteller set her apart from the average first-person filmmaker. She's refreshingly frank and funny about the trials that women endure in order to get pregnant, give birth and manage the early years of parenting. After watching, you'll want to thank your mother.
