Latest Film Incentive News, First Reported By the Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media
On August 8, the Economic Development Commission approved incentives for the independently produced golf film, The Squeeze. The director and producer, Terry Jastrow, has 30 years of directing experience. His credits include six Olympic Games, the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby, the PGA Championship, the British Open and the U.S. Open. The production team has chosen to film in Durango after scouting with the Four Corners Film Office in mid August. "We flew down to Southwest Colorado worried about what locations we would or wouldn't be able to find," said Mr. Jastrow, "but after scouting with the Four Corners Film Office we were thinking, 'what couldn't we find here?'" Filming is scheduled for September and October.
Fast & Furious 7
On August 29, the Economic Development Commission approved incentives for the blockbuster franchise, Fast & Furious 7. They are scheduled for a 23 day second unit shoot on both Pikes Peak and Monarch Pass. With the approved incentive, producers agreed to extend their stay in the state and shoot additional car-racing scenes. Filming will beging immediately.
