With only 12 days to go Colorado production company, Crooked Lake Productions, is quickly approaching its $15,000 Kickstarter goal for the new short film, Wrong Side Up, which is set in Colorado's Dust Bowl in 1935. Wrong Side Up is a coming of age story about a twelve-year-old boy whose fate is determined by his father’s departure and the impending Dust Bowl as he is forced to care for his family and their farm.
Filmmaker Henry McComas says,“The crowd funding experience has been exhilarating. So far we have raised $10,922 from 87 individual backers and we need to reach a total of $15,000 by September 21 to make our budget. Time is of the essence and I believe this historical short will be great for Colorado. I wouldn’t want to produce it anywhere else.”
The production team is entirely composed of Colorado professionals and CFVA members, including award-winning Director of Photography James Drake who will be shooting on the Red Epic; Motion Graphics extraordinaire, Kevin Kerndt; and phenomenal film composer Chris Joye.
