Film Office Updates on Incentive Productions - June 2014

COP CAR

Narrative feature film starring Kevin Bacon is shooting in the springs right now - the project is written and directed by Colorado native Jon Watts and will be in production through about mid July.

Incentives were awarded to Littleton-based Orion Entertainment for the 8 episode "Ultimate Sportsman's Lodge" which will air on the DIY Network and GAC (Great American Country).

The Denver-based studio of Rocky Mountain PBS is partnering with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to produce 13 episodes of "Odyssey: Discovering a Hidden Universe a Mile High ", which will be hosted by Dr. Scott Sampson, paleontologist and Vice President of Research & Collections at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. That production will travel around the state to various locations.

Also, we’ve approved our first video game production under the new incentive; Boulder-based Evergreen Studios is creating five episodes of an interactive adventure game entitled “The Adventures of Honor Harrington”.

Inner Dimension web-series release at Denver Comic Con

To: Film/Arts/Television/Web Editors

INNER DIMENSION, A COLORADO PRODUCED SCI-FI WEBSERIES PREMIERES AT DENVER COMIC CON

Denver, Colo. – The first three episodes of the science fiction web series, Inner Dimension (innerdimensiontvshow.com) premiere June 13-15, at Denver Comic Con (denvercomiccon.com), as part of the annual conference’s Reel Heroes track. After the daily screening of all three episodes, Galloping Metal Productions LLC will invite viewers to attend a panel where the web-series’ crew will workshop various aspects of the filmmaking process.

Inner Dimension follows several strangers who disappear from the real world and find themselves lost in a metaphysical realm older than the age of the dinosaurs. As the characters travel through portals between the two dimensions, meeting unlikely allies and foes, darkness seeps into the world and threatens the universe. Only a few can save it.

Featuring a motley cast of characters including a retired NFL football player, a professional boxer, a diplomat and a British lord, the series evokes the spirit of shows like Dr. Who, Lost and Fringe, with a surprising, paranormal premise shaped by producer and actress Kasha Fauscett.

No stranger to otherworldly experiences, Fauscett has used her intuition to support friends and family with guidance and healing. One day, while cleaning the house, the idea for Inner Dimension flooded her imagination. She has pursued it ever since.

Because she channels the show from a spiritual realm, she has committed herself to a fiercely independent production process. “You have to tell the story because the story’s flowing to you. If you sold it or gave it away for somebody to produce, it would not be the same thing.”

Ileana’s Smile - Kickstarter campaign

Ileana’s Smile - Kickstarter campaign

Ileana, a little girl with a big heart and lightning smile, grew up in a trash dump in Nicaragua and was forced into child prostitution. Tragically, she contracted HIV and passed away in 2011. Ileana’s Smile is a Kickstarter campaign to share her story so that other vulnerable children like her can be protected and live. Inspired by Ileana’s courage and smile, non-profit Love, Light & Melody and spokesperson/musician Brad Corrigan are raising funds through Kickstarter to produce a documentary film in honor of her short, beautiful and bold life.

The goals of the campaign are to unify 133,000 hearts in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children and to raise $133,000 to finance the production of the Ileana's Smile documentary film and soundtrack. The Kickstarter campaign commenced April 21 and runs through May 20, 2014 at http://kck.st/1ltLoqc. The documentary will raise awareness and funding for the International Justice Mission and World Childhood Foundation, two leading organizations fighting to protect children vulnerable to sexual exploitation worldwide.

There's my life up until 2006, and then I met Ileana,” said Corrigan. “That little girl wrecked me so beautifully, and I’ll never forget the courage and strength in her smile. It’s now my honor to speak and sing to her life so that other kids like her can be protected and live.

Corrigan, a Colorado native, founded Love Light & Melody in 2007. The non-profit organization uses creativity and the restorative power of the arts to capture and expose stories of injustice and extreme poverty.
